She came up to the cash counter with two knitting needles. Now we get lots of knitting needles in, some in pairs, lots are single.
So I charge her 25 cents each, because that's the price. I mean, have you looked at the price of knitting needles? They aren't that cheap! At 25 cents each, it's a steal! So it came to 57 cents with tax. And yes, she proceeded to complain that knitting needles came in pairs so it should be 25 cents for two.
Ugh. Well guess what lady, if I suddenly change it to 50 cents a pair, the next person will be in complaining that she has to buy two when she needs only one needle.
Can't win.
